Clinic Visit from Alice Hart Davies

Earlier this year I introduced ultrasound technology to Facial Aesthetics in order to make my practice safer.

Why?

I made this decision to bring ultrasound technology into the clinic to improve on the safety of procedures such as dermal fillers.

Ultrasound technology can help to map anatomical features of the face that may not be visible to the naked eye, including veins and arteries.

As practitioners, we know the anatomy and location of the major arteries and veins, however, every face is different and this technology allows us to ensure that we are injecting safely to ensure the best outcome.

How does it work?

Ultrasound technology, uses sound waves to receieve an image of the anatomy under your skin.

This allows your practitioner, or the person looking using it, to see any structures under the skin that they would need to avoid in order to safely treat you.

Here at Facial Aesthetics, we use this to ensure we are safely injecting away from high risk areas.

Is ultrasound safe?

There are no known risks from the sound waves used by an ultrasound machine. Other scans used in medical settings can involve exposure to radiation, however an ultrasound does not use this and only uses sound waves which are completely safe.

As you can see in the picture above, I am completely happy using this on my face with no concerns.
