Providing Dermal Filler Treatments in Essex for Over 15 Years
Are dermal fillers right for me?
During your consultation I’ll take a full medical history and carry out a computerised skin analysis to determine which dermal filler you need.
Please note you cannot have dermal fillers if you’re pregnant or nursing.
What happens during my dermal filler treatment?
I’ll apply a small amount of anaesthetic cream to the area to reduce any sensation when the injection is given, although the dermal filler also contains a local anaesthetic to minimise pain.
I use a thin needle to inject the dermal filler. Depending on the size of the area we are treating, you may have several injections. The injections don’t take long and the treatment is over reasonably quickly.
Will it be obvious that I have been treated?
At Facial Aesthetics we look to provide a subtle and enhanced natural result where friends will consider that you look refreshed and younger in appearance.
What age do you have to be?
Patients will need to be 18 years or over.
Will it hurt?
The dermal filler contains a local anaesthetic, but to make sure you’re comfortable I’ll also apply an anaesthetic cream. I want you to feel comfortable during your treatment, so if you have any questions, let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
How long will my dermal filler treatment take?
This depends on how many areas we’re treating, but it usually takes around 45-50 minutes, including the time needed for the anaesthetic cream to numb your skin.
How many dermal filler treatments will I need?
The majority of people are happy with one treatment, however sometimes a top-up is needed for best results. This would be done once any swelling has subsided.
How long do dermal fillers last?
It varies on the individual, but generally the results will last six to nine months. However, dermal fillers are gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so most people return for another treatment before the visible results have gone.
What Areas can be treated with dermal fillers?
Typical Areas to be treated include:
- Cheeks: Ageing usually contributes to volume loss in the fat pads, cheek fillers can plump and add volume to the skin.
- Crow’s Feet: Lines that form in the corner of the eyes. Generally caused through ageing, sun exposure and smoking.
- Chin: To sharpen and enhance both masculine and feminine appearances.
- Décolletage: The chest area can amplify the look of ageing as skin loses elasticity.
- Frown Lines: Through contraction of forehead muscles, deep lines can materialise. Over time, these lines become static and require treatment.
- Lips: Adding volume to the lip area can produce a more balanced and youthful appearance.
- Marionette Lines: Lines from chin to corners of the mouth, these lines give the appearance of sadness and angry.
- Nasolabial Fold: Lines between corners of the mouth and nose over time they develop into static lines.
- Nose: Filling dents and smoothing appearance
- Smoker’s Lines: Fillers can smooth the look of smoker’s crepey lines.
Can I get permanent dermal fillers?
At Facial Aesthetics we do not use permanent fillers as the treatment cannot be reversed especially if patients are not happy with the results, but equally as your skin ages permanent fillers change over time so we recommend temporary fillers so you can be treated appropriately over time.
Will I have any residual lumps after dermal fillers?
This is a possible side effect with dermal fillers, but your practitioner should be able to resolve most issues. And if there are any adverse results HA fillers can be reversed using Hylauronidase.
When will I see a result from my dermal filler treatment?
You’ll see the result immediately after treatment, however, please allow time for any swelling to subside.
Are there any side effects from dermal fillers?
Side effects can include bruising and swelling to the area following the dermal filler injection. This usually goes within a couple of days. It’s also worth taking Arnica tablets and avoiding alcohol for a couple of days prior to treatment to minimise the side effects.
How much do dermal fillers cost?
I’ll let you know the exact price during your consultation, but prices start at £250.
What do I need to do after having dermal fillers?
You should avoid any exercise, saunas and extreme heat for 24 hours.
