Micro-Needling – eDermaStamp (EDS) FAQ’s

If you have problems with acne scarring, age spots, wrinkles and sun damaged skin, look no further than Collagen Induction Therapy commonly known as Micro-Needling.

Julie is an EDS Dermaroller treatment Skin Needling Expert and is an Expert Skin Practioner providing Skin Treatments in Essex for Over 15 Years

How does Micro-Needling work?

The eDermaStamp (EDS) Rejuvenate treatment is an electronic, micro-skin needling procedure that produces thousands of micro-needle columns in the skin, which in turn stimulates the skin to naturally generate and repair itself. As part of this stimulation new collagen can be formed, new cells generated and the structure of the dermis, the lower level of the skin, enhanced.

What happens during my Micro-Needling treatment?

A single use medical grade needle applicator is used for the EDS Micro-Needling treatment. Firstly a local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment to make it more comfortable during application. The EDS hand-piece is then passed across the skin and creates tiny skin punctures to the dermal layer. This causes an inflammatory response in the skin that stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and skin healing.

What are the benefits of Micro-Needling?

It is generally recommended to have a course of treatments which can help with the following skin complaints
• Acne Scaring.
• Sun damaged and aged skin.
• Stretch marks.
• Facial and décolletage can be toned and refreshed.

When will I see a result from my Micro-Needling treatment?

After your procedure, you can expect a significant improvement in your skin’s texture and tone. The results may take a little time to show, this could be up to 3 months. Rest assured that the results you see over time will look natural and be long lasting.

Is Micro-Needling right for me?

The treatment is generally suitable for all skin types, but not for areas with skin disease or infections.

The treatment is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Are there any side effects from Micro-Needling?

Immediately after the treatment you will experience some redness, which can last up to two days.

You may also develop micro-crusting, as the skin cells renew and the resurfacing takes place. This can last for five to seven days but is easy to cover with makeup

How long do the results from my Micro-Needling Treatment last?

The results from the treatment are permanent but subject to the natural ageing process. This treatment can improve the situation but ageing is a continuous downward trend (unfortunately!). There is no such thing as a single, permanent fix and this relates to surgery too.

How long does the Micro-Needling treatment take?

I will apply a local anaesthetic cream prior to treatment to make it more comfortable. The treatment takes generally between 30 -60 Minutes.

Is the treatment painful?

During the Micro-Needling (EDS) a local anaesthetic cream is applied 20 minutes before your treatment to make it more comfortable. EDS Rejuvenate is significantly more comfortable than manual skin needling it truly does bring skin needling into the 21st century.

I do have a great deal of skill and experience in carrying out this treatment I’ll make sure you feel comfortable at all times, so there’s no need to worry.

How much does Micro-Needling cost?

I’ll let you know the exact price during your free consultation. Prices start at £250, but a course of treatments are generally recommended.

What do I need to do after having Micro-Needling?

You should avoid saunas and extreme heat for 24 hours. A recovery cream may be applied after your treatment to help soothe and calm your skin. You should avoid UV exposure for up to 3 weeks after treatment. On an on-going basis we recommend wearing sun cream and skincare products to protect and maintain the skin health, your practitioner will recommend a regime most suitable for you, which will also help maintain the results.
