Microneedling

Microneedling is a cutting-edge skincare treatment, designed to rejuvenate your skin.

This minimally invasive procedure uses fine needles to create tiny, controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface.

These micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production, which are contributers towards smooth, youthful skin.

Whether you’re looking to reduce fine lines, acne scars, or uneven texture, microneedling offers a safe and effective solution with minimal downtime.

“Emmaline is very welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable. She is very reassuring by talking through every stage of the procedure. Throughout the treatment she keeps checking in to see if you’re feeling comfortable.”

” I have had two microneedling treatments with Emmaline now.  Before beginning treatment l was nervous but needn’t have worried.  Emmaline has a friendly and professional manner.  She creates a calming atmosphere,  made me feel very relaxed and kept checking that l was comfortable with the treatment as it was taking place. I am now looking forward to my third appointment. “

“Emmaline gave me the most wonderful treatment. I was expecting just a microneedlings session which I have experienced before at another clinic. I did not know she also uses sound bowls, crystals and incorporates a massage into the treatment. I felt like I really got my money’s worth with all the different parts to the treatment. I really recommend.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling enables a genle treatment to improve the appearance of the skin. Benefits of microneedling are widely documented and studied and its mechanism of action is also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT) or Percutaneous Collage Induction (PCI).

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment ideal for the treatment of multiple contitions.

During a microneedling treatment, precise, stainless steel needles penetrate the dermis with a length of 0.5 to 2.5mm, depending on the device and indication. The skin reacts to the multiple micro injuries by triggering the bodies wound healing cascade. The bodies own regeneration process increases the production of new, endogenous collagen and elastin and improves blood supply to the tissue. The result is tissue filling e.g. atrophic scar tissue and regeneration of the skin area.

Depending on the needle length chosen, a topical anaesthetic cream can be used in some cases.

What happens after treatment?

The main objective of microneedling is the induction of collagen synthesis. Microneedling is referred to as PCI or CIT. Because microneedling only involves tiny controlled microinjuries on the surface of the skin, it is a face minimally invasive treatment.

The skin reacts to the multiple microinjuries by triggering the wound healing cascade.

The bodies own regerneration process increases the production of new endogenous collagen and elastin and improves blood supply to the tissue.

As a result, fibroblast and stem cells will be activated. It will also increase production of different fibers of the dermis while stimulating cell renewal, cell growth and communication between the cells. In addition, it is proven that the absorption of active ingredients is improved after treatment.

After microneedling, the small microchannels quickly close again, so the skin begins the healing process right after treatment.

Microneedling has a comprehensive effect on the entire renewal process in the skin. After treatment, the skin will be more sensitive and exposed to environmental factors such as UV rays and pollution.
Ensure you protect your skin with a high factor SPF following your treatment.

What can Microneedling treat?

Anti-Ageing concerns – Microneedling effectively fights all signs of skin aging such as wrinkling, loss of elasticity and rough textured appearance.

Acne Scarring – Microneedling reduces mature acne scars by increasing collagen and elastin production, smoothing out the skin around the scars and improving overall appearance.

Dry Skin – Improves skin dryness, flaking, irritation, redness and tightness.

Hair Growth – Microneedling regenerates the health of the hair follicles preventing hair loss and thinning hair.

Hyperpigmentation – Fights skin pigmentation disorders by bringing the melanocytes into balance and helping control inflammation of the skin.

Striae distensae – Microneedling is an optimal way to treat this condition in any area of the body, allowing the skin to reform in the area to be treated.
