Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are one of the most effective ways to treat signs of ageing, discolouration and UV damage as well as effectively treating acne and scarring. The treatment exposes a new layer of healthy undamaged skin, resulting in a smoother texture and a more even skin tone. It provides great results when used in conjunction with other treatments.

Peels do vary in their actions and the interaction on differing skin types, so a consultation is necessary to determine which peel is right for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the benefits of a Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peels are a perfect treatment to rejuvenate the skin and address some of the issues that come with ageing skin.

Aestheticians and Dermatologists regularly use peels to effectively treat acne, scarring and pigmentation to provide great results.

Are there any side effects?

Redness, bruising, swelling can occur when you initially have the peel but these are normal reactions and usually subside within 7 days.

When will my skin start to peel after treatment?

Peeling will generally start 48-72 hours after your treatment and can last 2-5 days. It is very important not to pick off peeling skin; peeling is minimal and easily controlled with moisturizer. Premature peeling of the skin will result in dry, cracked, raw skin that may develop into hyperpigmentation.

Are peels suitable for all skin types?

Yes, a chemical peel can be booked if you have dry, oily, sensitive or combination skin. Your aesthetician will choose the most appropriate peel for best results. However if you have severe inflammation then a chemical peel is not advised. It is also not suitable for women who are pregnant or breast feeding.
